Shelter

home to centuries
marble, canvas and bronze
National Gallery

This is in gracious response to the weekly prompt "Shelter" at
One Deep Breath. The National Gallery of Art is one of my favorite places to explore. One thing I miss (besides family and friends) after moving west. I was there last Fall, and it was beautiful!

Hummmm, look at that. The tree shelters the building. The building shelters the art. We maintain these shelters with our stewardship. Very nice, zappy.

i love the contrast between the itty bitty people on the stairs and the giant columns. funny how things can be sheltering just by their sheer enormity.

borut- yes, we were on the same page ; )

annieelf- I thought about the tree too, but I love how you brought the human stewardship into it. Lovely!

liquid- what a great way of putting it.

Happy Friday to all!

I agree about the National Gallery - it's a marvelous place to shelter amazing works of art.

Your haiku perfectly captured your feelings about that special place.

The warmth of the light on the columns is absolutely stunning. You've managed to capture the familiar in a way I've never seen it before. I miss it, too...how neat it would be to be able to see these structures more often.
