darkness falls below
snowy peaks dusted by pink
clouds, last host of day
This is in gracious response to the weekly prompt
"Dusk/Twilight" at
One Deep Breath. I love dusk, especially in the winter. I like to sit with the lights off and watch the deepening blue hues of dusk take over the sky.

Very interesting blogs you've got there, I've had a browse through and that made me want to spend more time here; will be back.
Lovely photo; great illustration for the haiku.
Greetings from Sydney

I like what you've written here :) And your 'Sprouts' with their sun-shinny happy colours made me smile :)
Marvelous marriage of words and image.
Lovely poem and soft misty photograph mirroring your words.
Lovely images in photo and words
Get Zapped,

The colors of a twilight can be mesmerizing! The photo is amazing as well!
This word image feels so delicate "snowy peaks dusted by pink clouds". Wonderful.
How beautiful! I can see why you like dusk.
I love "dusted by pink clouds" and the way the photo reflects that...beautiful :)
Nice how you caught the peak; last host of day... And lovely photo to match!
Thank you all for your lovely comments. It's a delight sharing my part of the world with you. Enjoy the light...
It's beautiful all dusted in pink ;) I loved how your haiku joined your photo ;)
It makes me feel nostalgic somehow
What an amazing photo. Where is that? I love watching day into night. Lovely 'ku.
The photo I took last week. They are the Cascade Mountains. Like many of you commented, they are beautiful, especially in the winter.
"...last host of day"
I love these words together!
Peaceful yet stunning pair.
Lovely image and haiku Michelle.
I love afternoon light the best as well. It becomes twilight before we know it. Van Morrison refers to this light as "magic time." I completely agree. There's something special about that glow.
neasa- welcome, thank you.
g- it was a peaceful moment.
studio- hi Laurel, yes, it is a magic time. I forgot about Van's take on that. I love his music, especially Astral Weeks.
