Gandhi - A Peaceful Superhero - IF

This is in response to the weekly challenge "Superhero" at Illustration Friday My first inclination when I read this week's challenge was Gandhi, he's my Superhero.

Everyone who wills can hear the inner voice. It is within everyone.

HA ! HA !! Fun take on Gandhi's image. But he is indeed a superhero who makes the world a better place.

I shouldn't laugh, but Gandhi as The Hulk is just too precious for words. Love it!

I guess he's a lot of people's superhero.

A most excellent choice for a super hero. I don't think I'll ever get this image out of my head though! This gave me a chuckle, for sure :)

Did you draw this? This is awesome!

I want the action figure for Christmas.

I want to make the Gandhi action figure and Buddha action figure go head to head in a cage.

Thanks, gromit. Your illo did the same for me ; )

dan- My only question is, who would make the first non-violent move? Yep, I created this.

Fascinating how you have shown his inner strength, in a super physical rendering. To think he had such power in his spirit. A lot of fun to view and beautiful work, I like those quotes as well.

Ha!

Ghandi sez, "You will all live in peace or I will snap your necks like tiny twigs!" Kidding.

Fantastic. Awesome. What can I say?

(Does he change back into Bill Bixby?)

So coincidental that last Friday night my wife and I rented the Deepa Mehta movie Water (excellent, by the way) in which Gandhi plays a pivotal part, and I thought about using him as the superhero subject (as I had been pondering all day about what to do for the topic). I would not have been able to pull it off as well as you have done.
Thanks for stopping by my blog and leaving a comment.

twisselman- friends have recommended that film. Sounds like I better check it out. Yes, Gandhi is a superhero we could use today, to help shift the wave we're currently on. I appreciate your visit. Looking forward to more IF.
