Sunlight

waiting all winter
to open into your warm embrace
sunlight

Photosynthesis (photo=light, synthesis=putting together) has always fascinated me. Generally, it is the synthesis of glucose from sunlight, carbon dioxide and water, with oxygen as a waste product. It is arguably the most important biochemical pathway known; nearly all life depends on it. It is an extremely complex process consisting of many coordinated biochemical reactions.

This is in gracious response to One Deep Breath, this week's prompt is "Energy".

I never liked biology but that's one topic I did understand.

I think photosynthesis is the perfect example of the prompt. It doesn't impress us we an explosion per say. Just quietly and seemingly effortlessly creating life.
