Afternoon Walk

Along my afternoon walk

I looked up and saw a lovely pink flower reaching for the sky

and a robin conversing with a tree

at my feet a puddle playing with stones

and a little closer a wooly bear caterpillar nibbling!

I came to a river

and crossed a bridge.

This is more than a simple image-guided poem; it reflects a time in life, a place we come to for change and balance. What does this post reflect or provoke in you? Where did the walk take you? Thanks to Poetry Thursday for their inspiration. This week's prompt is "Our favorite day of the week".

My favorite day of the week is any day I take a walk in nature.

I LOVE taking walks in nature and my photo album is filled with them.

Lovely post my friend! It took me back into the woods, where I can more easily realize that I am the Tao.

This is so cool, what a great idea. I love the woolly bear, they are the best. :)

I note you ended on a bridge?

Thanks to all of you for joining me on this walk and taking time to comment!

Dan- the Tao is everywhere ;)

Brian, well, actually I ended up back in my office ;-) I did encounter a bridge, but, it is a metaphor for a place in my life right now, where I am about to cross over to and let the past go, moving forward...

I like that the robin converses with the tree and the puddle plays with stones. That happens in my world, too. Great mix of images and words.

What a beautiful walk! I'm not a flower-person, but that is a fascinating flower. Whereabouts do you live?

aah i really love this. my mind works along the same lines as the words you used...the flower reaching for the sky, the stones playing in the puddle (that was my favourite bit). it made me so happy i felt a little sad too?

American robins do not look like European ones (I believe you saw a picture on my blog once of a robin on a tree. I presume you heard this bird before you saw and caught its portrait)
I don't like to be near a caterpillar at all especially when it has so much hair I know it will be a beautiful butterfly however what cabn I do against that disgust ?

I aggree with your conclusion, I'll add that I find every day nice because every day it's possible to find something nice to do

Sequential photos are always nice. I was watching robins today in Central Park! Liked the caterpillar, too -- wonder what he'll become when he pupates?
