Similar – IF

This is posted in response to Illustration Friday. This week's prompt is "Similar". I'm fascinated by the fundamentals of design. And how by using similar (repeating) shapes creates rhythm, unity and illusion of space. This piece was created by using three shapes; the circle, line and a geometric shape and by changing either the size and value of the first two, a dynamic design evolved.

Thanks to studio lolo for the interesting prompt!

I love that you chose pink! Kind of like a bubble-gum fantasy going on here:) It's also a very peaceful design.

I had no idea I chose the word until I read it on someone's blog. Duh. And I don't remember submitting it. It's a good one though ( I say humbly!)

Have a wonderful weekend ;)

I just heard a story on the radio about how designs can be used to advertise even without any wording: consider Apple computer, or Apple records. We pick up on the symbols or even colors to accentuate favorite and common products. Witness the first Coke bottle, which was designed with a color and knobby shape that could even be recognized after the bottle was broken.
Advertising doesn't really have an effect on me though . . . yeah right, I wish!

Very nice spheres. There is no way you can dispute that similarity. Love the 3d effect. Very nice.
