revealed
nestled in a tree
empty bird's nest
This year I am enjoying the welcome of winter as it reveals things normally unseen - like the beauty in spotting a bird's nest or the subtle hint of brown, red and golden hues. I now understand the metaphor of going inward during the darkened days while finding the beauty within.
This is in gracious response to
One Deep Breath. This week's topic is
A Kind of Beauty.

Nice photo and thoughtful words. Winter is a kind of surrender to the inner...hibernation of sorts, I guess. Nice post!
Winter reveals so many of Nature's secrets! There is a loneliness about it because, as you say, the nest is empty. Your poem and the image offer some consolation--it is really something that we are here to see it.

winter is a relentless time but there's also beauty in it.
well done!
Oh! I like this! There is beauty in everything if we just look for it. Winter offers a great time for inward reflections. Excellent.
how insightful for you to have found such simple beauty,,, i really liked this....
I think that when we sit quietly with ourselves we are able to better see all of the life around us. Soon, even when the leaves of spring return, we hear more clearly the nesltings, and in their calling to their mother, see their nest. Thanks for your thoughtful post.

Oh, I love birds. There is so much natural beauty in winter.
lovely - it is just waiting for the return of spring
Revealed for those who look!
lovely haiku - and I agree with what you say - its one of my favourite things about winter. Though the birds are not so much easier to spot and recognise in the leafless trees as i always think they will be!
And because of reading your perspective, I have a greater appreciation for the metaphor. Thank you.
beauty really is found in the simplest things. nice haiku and photo!
oh, i so love that...and the photo...
a wonderful response to beauty ... beautiful photo and words. Peace, JP/deb
True! Mistletoe eating at a tree, persimmons glowing in the misty cod air of December, frost lace on the surface of water...
that picture is breathtaking in its stark winter beauty...& your joy in the find is beautiful too.
