This is posted in response to
Illustration Friday. This week's prompt is
"Blues". I think of most of us owe some honor to the
Blues, to those who struggled in the Deep South and shared their pain and suffering through music. Anyone who has listened to popular music is touched by the Blues, its threads are woven into an array of modern music.
Pictured is the great
Robert Johnson.

Love the Blues.
I love Robert Johnson and this is absolutely perfect for the theme!
nice tribute and your work is beautiful.
nice tribute to the man who sold his soul at the crossroads (or so they say) makes for a good story and even better music. gotta lov the blues
Beautiful atmospheric piece!
Nice take on the subject. Mr johnson has sold so many records since 60s rockers like clapton started talking him up.
This is wonderful! I love the movement of the text as if it's vibrating from his guitar. Nice, moody blues.
Have a wonderful weekend :)
I'm not a big blues fan per say -- but you're right, the Blues did and do influence a lot of music I do like, rock 'n roll and all the rest. Great illustration!
This is great! & commentary so true.
& as Laurel said- love that text vibration
Hope your weekend is going swell.
Uau!!
Very good.
Love the colour and layering of this piece. I agree with honoring the blues musicians ... amazing music borne out of amazing journeys. Peace, JP/deb
This is an excellent piece, and a perfect subject. I love the layering and the treatment of the type.

Hello everyone - this has been such a powerful prompt/post. The Blues has indeed affected us all, either through the music or just being human - as we all encounter the blues once in a while. Thank you for your generous comments.
Peace.
